Hello again all! I just replaced the heater core on my 89 Turbo (with a lot of help from you folks...thanks once again!). Finally got it all back together and everything functional, but I am still getting some rushing/gurgling sound once the thermostat opens and after a few minutes it begins to steam up the windshield and even the instrument cluster. Could the heater control valve be causing this or do I have to start tearing it apart again? Other suggestions, perhaps. All help appreciated. Thanks.

had some problem and i eventually said FUGGIT! i can do with out heat, hope you had the clamps that attach the pipe to the actual core and as IJ said those pesky o-rings can cause leaks

I used a replacement heater core from a local autoparts and the pipes/fittings were sketchy to me, so instead of using the o-rings, I just soldered the other pipes on, like others had done/suggested. No problems, no leaks, and more importantly, no coolant smell in the cabin (finally).

Only way to fix it, is to fix it again... sorry.
