Coolant overflow relocation

So I am standing in front of my car, ovreflow in hand and I notice that there is no room for it anymore due to my FMIC.

So I pose the question, what did everybody else do? My options are to relocate the stock tank or buy a smaller/better shaped aftermarket and mount it somewhere. Just trying to get some ideas.

Custom will work fine as long as it has a syphon tube and stores enough.

Most of the custom ones I have seen have just a rad cap on top and a single port at the bottom. Will that work? Will the bird cage light be on? Not entirely sure how that sensor works. Which ones are you talking about that need to be shortened?

The spot I think I would like to move it to is next to my air filter.

You need the same size tank.

Have you tried slightly moving it upwards?

To be honest I haven't even found the bracket forit yet to try and do anything. I just don't like how cluttered its getting between my IC and rad. I already have my power steering reservoir and oil cooler in there. Don't want the coolant overflow hindering the air flow.

Birdcage light faults open (meaning if you disconnected the sensor it won't come on), but you'll lose it's function. Most don't have a release or a syphon tube though...

I would like to retain its function. Looks like I might be relocating the stock unit. It will look like hell but I know it will retain the stock function. Maybe I will get a new one so its clean.

I likely could but the more I look at aftermarket reservoirs, the less I want to spend $100+. Moving the stock unit will get the car driveable and in the summer when I have income again I will order something pretty.

I have heard of it going just slightly above stock and working fine with aftermarket intercoolers. Iirc all the did was bend one tab and move it upwards one hole.

Adjuster has the cleanest factory relocation I have seen. Dont have any details of it other than this picture posted in his F/S ad.

That would be a great solution if I was relocating my battery but there are way too many drawbacks to having the battery in the trunk.
