contact previous owner?

anybody thought about contacting the previous owner of your car.maybe you've kept in touch with them.

i've allway's thought about getting a hold of the person,i bought the car from.i bought my car from a young kid through his father.i only spoke with the son over the phone and he seemed to love the car.the father however never wanted his son to buy it in the first place.might have been a bad choice of car for where he was in that particular time in his life.

the son did say something about me staying in contact,but i lost the phone number over the year's.i bought it off him over 5 year's ago.thought it would be cool to give him an update on it,seeing i bought it for a project to work on.

i just stumbled upon the bill of sale with his name and address,got me thinking about it.

I bought a supra from a kid. He told me that he wanted to see it when it was done. It was a total pos. I didnt have the heart to tell him that i reduced it to a parts car, cut the nose off, and ripped the motor out.

If I ever saw him again (unlikey) I'd tell him that the project car was his.
The thing was on cut springs and blown shocks, the underbody was dented and rusty. the interior was trash and the exterior was "ready for paint" which meant bondo gobs and primer all over it. The sad thing was it ran better than the car i bought for $1800. As much as I love supras I should never have bought either car. I'll feel alot better when i have one running.

i bought mine on ebay, flew to atlanta, paid the guy, and drove home 600 miles. his name was phuc ly. nice wish i could find him to show him what has been done. he sold it cause he wanted an exotic car

I was 17 (now only 18), and I bought from someone about 25

I could tell he was sad about selling the car (took pictures before signing the title)

Performance and Maintenance wise I think he would be very happy with it, but when I get it painted and clean up the body I plan to send him a couple pictures as he requested.

The previous owner of mine sends me messages on AIM from time to time trying to sell me VERY cheap brand name parts...which I can only assume don't work right based on the car I bought from him.

He also tried to sell me a second gen DSM with a horrible body kit on it.

after i have taken apart the one i bought from my car id prob:kickinthenuts: and a lil :bigun2: the guy destroed the car drove it on a bhg it was flooded there was prob 3 in of collant where i wasnt sapposed to be the inside was nasty when we went to pic it up but now its my baby well willl be when its running

I just talked with the PO of my car not 5 hours ago! He's shocked that I'm spending as much money on the car as I am. Nice guy, just couldn't afford another 7M BHG, and needed a running car.

i think for the most part,previous owner's had a thing for the car.even though some of them should leave the wrenching to someone else.

i know the previous owner of my car did more harm then good to it,but it was also one of his first car's.i can imagine his before and after pic's
