Yes, or you can connect it straight to the A/C compressor clutch.

So the other wires in the connector are unnecessary then?

Connector 1? Did you verify that goes to the A/C pump? On mine, there was one that went to the bottom for the speed sensor. It's not used and I just clipped it off. I don't remember if it looked like #1.

On mine there is a separate single wire going to the clutch on the front with a connector that should mate to the #3 connector.

I connected the blue wire with red dots that comes off of the connector I labeled #1 to the #9 on the EA2 and that did nothing, so that's obviously not right. Ok, I will search for the wire coming off of the A/C clutch.
