Hey all, Got this posted up on CelicaSupra.com also. Figured I'd throw it here too. There was no 'For Sale' category, so I hope it's ok here.

I'm making room in the shop and want this engine to go to someone who needs it, to rebuild or just use the top end. I thought I would post this engine here before dismantling it to sell the viable parts on eBay. I think a member here should have first shot at it. Located in southern Maine.

It's the 7MGTE that I pulled from my 89 MKIII automatic. I was told it had a head gasket issue, and I had a new engine waiting to replace it so I never really looked into it, but I don't think it does. It wouldn't hold coolant long, but upon pulling the engine I found that the reason for that was a leaking freeze plug. With the limited short distance testing I did while this engine was still in the car, I can tell you the following: It has a lower end knock. Mileage is unknown. I say that because it didn't appear to be the original engine. The turbo boosted fine and did not smoke. I only tested this briefly a few times, as boosting an engine with a lower end knock wasn't high on my list of stuff to accomplish. I am no turbo expert, but I did compare the shaft play to the turbo on the replacement engine which had extremely low miles, and they both felt identicle. That is all I can attest to as far as this engine. It is still assembled, on a stand (been that way for over 2 years) comes complete, with coil packs and any leftover MKIII stuff I have, like the intake '3000' pipe etc.

I would like to sell it complete. Only after being posted here for a little while, will I dismantle and sell the items individually, and scrap the block. Don't expect a pretty 'drop-in turn-key' engine. It ran ok with the exception of the knock, but it's definitly going to need the bottom end checked out, possibly rebuilt. Ask any questions you would like. Email would be the fastest. I'll update if I think of something else.

I'll try to dig up pics if requested, or you can see some of the engine being removed, by clicking on the link in my sig, then clicking on the pic of the red car for the album.

PayPal or cash would be fine. $200

Also have a spare 3SGE head w/ cams, approx 110k miles on it. Been on shelf for 2+ years. $40

Thanks, Brad.

Very nice looking ride. I'm not too far from you. When you decide to part it out, let me know. I'll PM you.
10-4 and thanks for the props. Got someone lined up to come get it towards the end of the month, if that falls thru, I'll let ya know. Nice to know there's a Suprafreak 'local'.

Thanks for the interest, I still have it, but as stated above it's being held for someone to be picked up towards the end of the month. If that falls thru for any reason, you'll be the second to know.

I'm in the southwest corner of Maine, about 1/2 hour from the Rochester NH state line. You'd be going 45 minutes past me to stay in Bridgeton.
