Good to know. I can get my rod and bearings out of my GTE block then. New oil pump here I come... what happens when you put GTE pistons in an NA anyways? Curiousity.

Read the manual, you have to compare numbers on the block to numbers on the crank if its not marked on the bearing, should be a 1, 2, or 3. Not all the same.

So when I take off my GE bottom end, I have to replace a certain one, check the number than grab the same number one off my GTE. Seems simple enough.

Where can I get plasti-gauge and how do I use it? I was gonna make a thread about this, but since were talkin about it.

The numbers are for different thickness of bearing, the plastigage you put on crank, torque rod cap, then take apart to check your clearance, you really need the specs from the manual, do a search for tsrm if you dont have a manual.

Kinda my bad now that I think about it, what i was saying about crank and block #'s IS for the main bearings, but the rods have marks also, i believe its stamped on the rod, and, most times from my experience with toyotas, the rods are all the same mark a good 50% of the time , and usually #2's. But please, go by the book, and plastigae to make sure its in specs or you just wasted a bunch of time.
