Compared to an Evo

I was out last night late with a few guys looking to race. I wasn't in my supra (na-t swap now) but i was in my friends nissan.

So we role up to a stop light and next to us is a stock evo. Looked to be a MR edition. He looked at us, ect ect. So we took off at green, he gave us about a 7 car head start, and punched it. Passed us like we were standing still.

It put the biggest smile on my face. This car seemed REAL fast for s stock evo.

So what would it take for me to keep up/take an evo? My upgrade go as follows - - - -

NA-T
BIC DDP
Stock CT (for now)
Maf-t Pro
3.5 inch exhaust (not cats)
Intake
Cometic Head gasket
ARP ect
NA Cams
NA intake manifold ported

Those are most of the thing i can remeber!

So woudl i keep up with stock evo's?

I love how i get adive from the two non-turbo guys ;) (much love)


idk how much boost 12-14 psi maybe? Once i get it tuned.

Stock weight. Not rippign out any seats or anything

evo's are lighter than supra and they're pretty quick cars,
With that much boost, maybe...but i never raced one cuz we dont have them in Canada....

LOL, just because I'm N/A, doesn't mean I know nothing about turbo tech, trust me, I do.

14 lbs might do it if you have an awesome tune.

Get that sucker tuned and go 14 pounds youll probably blow it away. My friend has an STi and his dad has an EVO9 MR.

The Evo has more RAW power but its just a beast.

Ive driven both and prefer the STi.

One Evo Mr > two STI's

And yup, id muc hrather go maft pro than SAFC, EBC ect ect ect and all that shit

The Evo is one bad ass car...trust me..

Now I can't compare my supra to it because mines a hunk of junk for now but I have beat alot of car and drove alot of cars and the evo just feels quick..

The main question is weather its a 8 or 9...My friend has a 9 and when I was stock he would beat up on my 8 (from a roll) but with exhaust i own him..

Im also new to the supra tuning so I can't give you a route of upgrades to beat a evo but just be careful cause they are quick

Im no evo expert but it looked as if it rolled off the showroom floor! Looked to be a 9.

I was jsut amazed at how quite it was. All i heard was wooooooosh (turbo)

ive ran an evo8 (with what i could tell had an exhaust) from a 20mph roll with no boost controller (7-8 psi i guess on my mods) and i inched up little by little as we got faster.

mods at the time were, intake, bic ddp, exhaust....now i have a few more stuff


off the line youll get murdered unless the evo cant launch or you have the power to make up for his awd launch

well.

why are you runnin a maft pro w/ barely any mods?

get some 550CC injectors, walbro pump, 57-1 or 60-1 trim, FPR, FMIC, hard pipes, get rid of the n/a cams, There good for low end torque, thats it. and boost around 14-24psi, Exhaust is kinda big for your current mods aswell, But, I gaurentte your going bigger, so it'll be fine, i cant think of anything else right now. but yeah, you should pwn a evo with those supporting mods,
