Common reasons of 1JZ Turbo Failure?

Some of the parts are made from ceramic. Mine are still doing good though. The spool is awesome on them and I'm at 11psi.

As with any other turbos that have over 70k miles and god knows what abuse it's been subjected to it will fail...

What I like to know is why the rear turbo is the first one to go in most cases?

i thought i read something about a recall on the 1jzs that caused the rear turbo to fail.... talked about it a few months back

the PCV system was revamped with a new valve (the 2jz gte pcv valve is a replacement) and the breather on the passengers side valve cover changed location slightly on the turbos intake pipes.

FWIW, my 1jz has that issue addressed but my turbos whine a little, probably will blow in a few months (hopefully not sooner). as of now however they burn no oil and boost great.

$1000 for rebuilt factory twins or $1000 for a cheap single setup i wonder what everyone picked.....
