Man, they are getting really risque with some of the commercials. Anyone seen the mobile phone gaming commercials? There is one with a hooker in bra and panties riding an old guy in a hotel room and she's saying "you can't die on me, senator!". She starts bouncing on him, beating his chest. It was really suprising to see. My wife said there is another one where some guy O.D.s on something. It's basically a "you can't die - I got you this great gift" commercial.

I saw the commercial and said "I wonder how long THAT one is going to stay on the air?"

Sure, there are Girls Gone Wild commercials late night all night long on cable, but this is pretty shocking to see when it's not even prime-time or late-night TV.

has anyone heard that new Geico commercial where the talk host takes up vantriliquism (sp?) and he uses the same voice for his normal voice and the dummy. it's SO friggin funny. i was fueling the trucks at work, and i started cracking up (by myself) and my boss came out. he was like, :hand on shoulder: "chris, this disturbs me..." :walks away:

The FCC, the Federal Communications Commission, decided all by itself that radio and television were the only two parts of American life not protected by the free speeh provisions of the First Amendment to the Constitution.

I'd like to repeat that because it sounds vaguely important.

The FCC, an appointed body, not elected, answerable only to the President, decided on its own that radio and television were the only two parts of American life not protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution.

Why did they decide that? Because they got a letter from a minister in Mississippi! A Reverend Donald Wildmon in Mississippi heard something on the radio that he didn't like! Well Reverend, did anyone ever tell you there are two knobs on the radio? TWO...KNOBS...ON THE RADIO!! Of course I'm sure the Reverend isn't that comfortable with anything that has two knobs on it! But hey Reverend there are two knobs on the radio! One of them turns the radio off, and the other one *slaps forehead* changes the station!! Imagine that, Reverend! You can actually change the station! It's called freedom of choice, and it's one of the principles this country was founded upon! Look it up in the library Reverend if you have any of them left when you've finished burning all the books!
