Just traded my Turbo Targa 5sp Mkiii for a 95 3.4 Camaro as a daily driver. Didn't do it cause it was cool, but because it gets better gas mileage surprisingly, it has 92k original miles, and when I sell it I'm gettin a 1jz'd Mkiii easily because the Camaro is in excellent condition and is worth at least 4 grand.

My Supra gets 22-23 MPG city and 28+ highway...it's all in how you take care of the car (and if you keep your foot out of it).

Good luck with the Camaro ;)

Is that USG or IMP G? I don't know what I get, but I don't anticipate that..

What's the trick? Is there a fuel mileage thread somewhere with these answers in it?

When my Dad had his 88T he would average ~31 on the highway. ( He drove to an from Cali alot)

I would get a little less... we can all guess why :evil2::evil2:

The Supra is quite a car when its taken care of properly

US of course, I'm in Phoenix ;)

I'm already helping you in the other thread...getting rid of all codes (especially like the ones you have) helps a lot. No vac leaks, IC piping leaks, clean air filter, basic tune-up maintenance all have an effect. Having an EGR bumped mine up a couple MPG as well.

#1 reason? You have to drive in a manner to save gas....the second you floor it, you can kiss MPG goodbye. Otherwise, the good ole 7M gets almost as good as my R22E truck in the city. Got a Cressida with a 5M that gets 23-24 MPG in the city ;)

I get 25+ because I shift at 2K RPM and try to stay off the highways where I know it will want to boost anytime I touch the gas...

wow. bad call.

a v6 camaro is like a fat chick with all her clothes on.. big, ugly, smells like ez-cheese, and you cant have any fun messin around!

dude come on. get a 5 speed civic or somehting if you need a reliable, efficient daily driver. a v6 camaro is a strong vehicle with a weak heart, unbecoming of its nature. plus f bodies are the grossest camaros ever. man.

Wow. Unless the turbo was a heaping pile of shit, I'd say you got the raw end of that deal.

Hence my 2 pennies for a dollar comment :D

It would have to at LEAST be an LT1 car... equal trade would be closer to an LS1 car by my mods these days...

I'd say you just made someone very happy at your expense. When were you
planning on selling the Camaro, next week? The more you drive it the more it drops in value, the older it gets the more it drops in value. What's the difference in your car insurance rates going from a 87 to a 95? Any more
money than you were paying probably could buy a lot of gas.
I don't see the MkIII Supras ever depreciating at this stage, too much interest
in them across the country, about the only Camaro worth having would be a
'69 Z28-302.
Anyway, good luck with your DD, hope you can get back in the Supra game
soon, think you will miss the "Mania" of not having one in about 1 month.

Dunno what's with the hate of F-bodies... The 3rd and 4th gens both handle well, the LS1 is a powerhouse, and the 4th gens are made quite well (3rd gens not so much).

It's not like it's a mustang. Mustangs are made to a much lower price point, and it shows...

Same here a bit better around town though ;)

Can't imagine going backwards to a Camaro though that's not terribly smart.
