I want to paint just my fender and door so they will match my car until I start prepping for paint in a couple months. I know there's a product out there that you can get that's color coded to match your paint code and you can get an aerosol device to spray it. Can anyone paint me in the right direction?:1zhelp:

I don't know if you have Oreilly's there. It is a parts store but they also mix paint.
it costs about 20 dollars and they'll match your color code.

and yes, it does come in a rattle can

i think any automotive paint shop can do this as well. I know this has been mentioned to me before to go to a local automotive paint store and have them match the paint and put it in a spray can.

Use google.

Express paint, colorite - there are quite a few.

I would suggest buying a spray gun - even if it is temporary, a cheap adjustable gun will do a much better job. If you go that route - you can have a local shop mix the paint for you.

ya i dont recommend the spray cans there uncatalized so it doesnt hold up to well. and also on those light blue metallics like on your car, they dont match very great. Just wait till you have the money and spray it through a gun with a basecoat clearcoat

im w/ dadgums on this one, also if you have a sherwin williams local they can color match and the paint is pretty cheap but at the same time looks like some quality stuff.

good luck adam. too bad u moved so far. remember the other adam's (on socal) car before and after steve ugly corner as they called it? remember his car after it was fixed? that was my body shop guys work. can't even really tell anything ever happened to the car. adam (on SCS) was so happy w/his car after he said he wanted to lick it or some shit...lol

spray can paint jobs usually come out kinda disappointing...u might wanna consider a spary gun or just deal w/it a little longer till u are ready for paint.

the way I always see it is you can't control the pressure on a spray can like you can on a spray gun, making it stick better. o__O

I do have a spray gun. I just want the door and fender to look pretty close to the color of the rest of the body. Even if that means putting down a coat of primer and a light sand job I'd be happy. I just joined a local car club and I want to show my car off at shows, but not with a red door and fender. Once I start prepping for paint in a few months I won't care, but for right now I just want my drivers side to look close to the color of the rest of the car.

not always, if you use the duplicolor paint you can get a pretty decent match on the color and you just have to take your time when spraying it, and it will come out ok.
