The pontiac solstice uses an R-series transmission. The R154 bellhousings (7m & 1JZ) bolt up to this transmission. Basically, it would be possible to use the solstice transmission behind a M/JZ series engine with a custom tranny mount / driveshaft.

We don't know how much power it will take yet, so the safer option would be using the R154 (unless you want to be a pioneer).

who made these trannies? Was it specifically toyota with other components mixed with in house stuff.

Or, is it like nissan where they're mostly made by another company and then stamped with the logo?
