seen thsi happen on a $4k build up with a local supra owner here. Running a GT40 on a fresh rebuild. Got 100 miles from home and his car died, checked the timing belt sure enoguh it came off. The culprit was a shattered oil pump pulley, replaced it and its good as new.

Or, try hooking a right angle drill up to the oil pump drive shaft with the key on and spin the drill while someone verifies oil pressure at the gauge?

Not sure this will work, just an idea..

That idea did cross my mind, but it sounded too easy:icon_bigg

Can anyone verify if this will work? I think it should, but i'm usually wrong with these things.

NDBoost: Youve just settled my nerves alot. Thanks.

did you guys check the 8mm bolt?

I had somethin g like that happen and it was the damn bolt stretched that it broke loose. Upon putting a ratchet on it sheared cleanly off.

Well, just to add a bit of closure to my story, i've stuck another pulley wheel on, (using the original bolt, which torqued back up just fine) a new belt, and everything is back to normal. (oil pressure is stil good too).

I'm just putting it down to the 100,000+ miles of stress.
