so it wasnt sucking in hot air could you just cut a triangle shape hole in your hood so outside air enters. or is it a bad idea

Seriously, take the time to use proper grammar and punctuation so we can understand you a little better and know wtf you're talking about. You're making my head hurt. In the last thread you did the same thing, please, take the time.

...a hole in your hood isn't a great idea for driving in the rain anyways. one guy on here did the MK4 trd hood pattern cut out on his MKiii hood but he said drivining in the rain was out of the question. might just have been his personal prefernce

i think i actually understand him ..its not anything im proud of but i grew up with kids who talk like this... his question is since his air intake filter is in the hood where their is hot air, can he cut a hole in his hood so that he has cold air going to it.

yea you could do that but why cut holes in your car. just redirect the pipe away from the hot engine bay , and if you have an intercooler i dont see a big advantage. also if you have a hole in your hood when it rains water will go right into the engine which will probably cause hydrolock.

Or you could buy the CAI kit that one of our vendors sells in the miscellaneous vendor subforum as long as you still plan on running the CT-26.

Or you can run your filter underneath and behind the fog light. CRE has his like this and he likes it. Or another option is getting vented headlight covers. That might help too

I had an acura with a functional scoop it worked prety good. but to realy be functunal you need an air box that seals when the hood shuts ,and have a naka duckt and or a scoop. without it the air would just flow right over .a hole alone wolnt draw air in. it would however extract heat You just have to make a cover for when it rains and close the hood on it . ps. a low mounted cold air intake without an air by pass is a bad idea. its not rain that blows engines its deep puddles
