All of a sudden I got a check engine light when decelerating. The engine has idled pretty rough a few times, but it idles fine maybe 75% of the time since the Check Engine Light popped on. The car is still drivable but maybe the ECU is resorting to default values. When I am driving there is no engine light, but as soon as I slow down and almost come to a complete stop it pops back on until i drive again.

I just pulled codes when I got home and I am getting 21 (Oxygen Sensor Signal), 24 (Intake air Temp Sensor Signal), 31 (Air Flow Meter Signal), 34 (Turbocharger Pressure). I have not tried to clear the codes yet. Recently one of PCV hoses near the 3000 pipe had moved a little and was off and I clamped it down better.

Is it possible that my ECU is going bad because the TSRM lists that as one of the possible problems for all of these codes. Maybe my wiring harness is shorting out somewhere.

thanks for the help guys.

isnt 34 fuel cut? if so, then its probably a boost leak...

make sure your o2 sensor is clean, and it may need a new one. make sure your afm has a clean air filter and isnt clogged. make sure the connector is 100% on and seated onto the AFM.

Well, from reading around a little more I think the 34 might be from the PCV hose being disconnected. Can anyone confirm this? I will check to make sure I didnt loosen the AFM and check on the PCV hoses, etc. tomorrow morning.

I know some of those codes won't actually trip the check engine light. Does anyone know which of the ones I have will trip it?
