this week "2JZUL8R" is at DynoXtreme in the hands of the great tuning master who flew in from Texas, Justin Nenni. the car tripped him out BIG TIME! my boss and i drove our cars down for tuning and when we got there Justin hopped in and took a lok at my car and we were asking how the AFC and VPC should be hooked up since changing the values on the dials wernt changing the cars performance AT ALL! KEEP IN MIND IM RUNNING US 2JZ ECU (w/ no limiters), NOT MAP!!! so Justin sees the dials dont change the idle or anything. so he looks at the VPC then tries to make my car die. so he turns the VPC all the way down/up and says "it should be dying!!!" then he unplugs the VPC and is in TOTAL AWE that the car still WONT DIE!!!! keeps idling/revving 6000rpm strong! Nenni said he has seen some whacky shit before on cars but NEVER something like my car where it continues to run AND BOOST even without a VPC/AFM etc on US ecu! LOL!!!

anyway, he's gonna get it tuned and laying down at least a solid 550RWHP for daily driving by next week! and if my clutch will hold, scrape the 600 surface!

Hey Nick, was that piece steel? My wastegate is gaining some rust, but can you polish steel if so, what do I coat it with?

im pretty sure that crown piece was aluminum. VERY lite. sent it out for polish and got it back like that. my power steering resovoir on the other hand IS steel and after polish is now showing some signs of wanting to rust.

You should coat it with some glisten PC.

Its a catalyzed clear coat designed for polished metal surfaces.

One thing - dont use it in a high-heat application like the wastegate.

Nick, I noticed your hydro fan resevoir is black now with a small line so you can still see the fluid level. What did you use to do that? A normal rattle can flat black?

I think I can handle the painting. The resevoir just caught me off guard. It looks good and will go good with the blackness in my engine bay.

I need to clean it first though. The plastics get a little yellow over time.
