Code 34 Issues and questions

I have been getting a code 52 intermittently for some time now. I am still not convinced it is the wireing, because if I let the car warm up to running temp before driving, no code. Start and go, I get the code almost everytime. Tired of dicking around, so it's time to do it.

I recently installed a MBC, and it is set for around 8 PSI, works great. Now I also get a code 34. Even if I never see boost. If the codes are not stored, where is it coming from. Is it the same sensor for the gauge that would indicate an over boost situation. I have found a couple of boost leaks under the new pressure, which are now corrected, I have a MaxSpeed BOV, and it appears to work perfectly as well.

Any ideas?

The codes are stored, have you cleared them?

I pulled the fuse and cleared everything this afternoon, idleing away the CEL came back on. I'll be honest and admit I'm not sure which codes are present. In the past, the 52 code would make the car run like shit, belch black smoke like a diesel. It is not doing that right now and I assumed the 34 code not the 52.

Your getting code either because your hitting fuel cut, which is around 12psi depending on the ambient temp. Or you could also be getting code 34 because of a Boost leak. Since you just installed your boost gauge make sure boost isnt spiking till 12psi and making you hit fuel cut. It thats alright then its time to check for boost leaks.

BTW clear your codes by pulling the EFI fuse. And in my case the problem was the wiring to the knock sensors that caused code 52. Its a pretty simple fix, I have the part numbers to the knock sensor connectors you need. Youll need to go to your local toyota dealer and order them. I dont remember correctly but I dont think they cost that much.

If any body cares, the codes were cleared and the one that popped up was 52. The connector and wire looks good so I'll just re-wire as described 100 times beforemin this forum. Feeling good, thanks for the help
