hey all, i have just got done with my engine rebuild and it ran great until it started stalling spontaniously. One minute, it runs and drives great, but then it will stall and not start up again. i came up with code 31 wich is airflow meter signal, so i cleaned out the connector and applied petroleum jelly to the terminals and it didnt help at all. Are these symptoms of an airflowmeter going out?

I'm having the EXACT same problems right now.
Weird that you posted this beause I logged on and was JUST about to make a thread just as this.
It will drive and run great, and then out of no where, as I'm idling down towards a stoplight, the CEL kicks on and my rpm's drop quick, wants to die, and gets extremely rich. Then I'll start going again and the CEL will go away, next stop light is the norm, then it does it later on...
Seems though that after 20minutes of continuous driving, it tends to act normal until the next time I start my car up and drive it again.
My AFM and Air Filter both have seen their share of damage (ie. Rain getting into them) on the count of my air filter sits directly below my headlight...:icon_conf
Eh...I'm getting 550's/Lex so I won't be too worried about it for long.

the housings arent going to help, lex or stock, its the electronics or wiring that is messed up, if it is the AFM giving the problems.
