clutch will not disengage!

Installed new clutch disc, pressure plate, and throw out bearing on my 88t. Put new bolts in for pressure plate torqed to 14 ftlbs. When car back together, it would not go into gear while started.

I put it on jacks, clutch depressed in 1st gear and started her up. The tires were spinning with the clutch depressed.

Everything seemes to be put on right.

When i did take the salve off, i noticed i got the boot up and it started leaking. Put the boot back on, bled the system, and it still does not disengage the clutch.

Any ideas?

Clutch disc is installed backwards or you have a bad master/slave cylinder.

clutch disc was installed as per the tsrm.

actually, while looking i noticed i have the protruding spring side of the clutch disc towards the flywheel. Thats correct rite?

i have the flate side with the protruding splines towards the pressure plate.

Disc is backwards then. The clutch disc will hit the flywheel bolts. Always make sure to check the disc will spin freely before installing the pressure plate.

so the flat side with the protruding splines should face the flywheel? the raised spring side should face the pressure plate?

By running my car for no more than 2 mins cause damage to my new clutch?

It may or may not of damaged it. I have never installed a clutch backwards before.

Welcome to my world..

Make sure you assembled the release bearing hub correctly.If you said the slave is leaking I'm willing to bet that's your problem.
But otherwise, could be you put the disc in backwards. Get someone to push the clutch for you and watch how far the slave pushes the fork.

It is recommended that you replace both the master and slave at the same time, as they are likely the same age.
