Clutch slips.. what to do?

Hey guys I put a centerforce dual friction clutch in a few years ago. I've only put a few 1,000 miles on it but it's slipped in high rpm's since I have done it. I never resurfaced the flywheel because I didn't know I had to do that years ago. I think that's the problem. What happens is the clutch works fine in lower rpm's and fine on the highway even at higher rpms. Where the problem lies is when I'm going from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd in the higher rpms (4,000 or higher) Otherwise it's fine. It seems as though it can't handle the higher power. I have no smells of bad clutch or typical bad clutch symptoms. It's only in these power ranges and is consistent. Otherwise shifts fine. No issues with the tranny. I have never beaten the car or raced it. Driven as a daily driver for some years.

I only put the centerforce in because I got it for $150 and I thought about going na-t at one time but that never happend. Didn't have these issues with the stock clutch before. So i'm trying to get my supra intact to sell. I'm thinking about purchasing a used stock flywheel and getting it re-surfaced. Getting a new geniune toyota clutch and pressure plate. I just don't wanna take any chances and make sure I do it right this time. There's no way of telling if there's something wrong with the centerforce clutch and I can't see how there could be with since the problem has been since the beginning. Yet.. like I said.. Going back to toyota parts I don't think I can go wrong even if I have to spend the extra money.

Do you think this is a good idea what I plan to purchase? Can anyone tell if it definetly seems like the flywheel is the issue? thoughts? comments? thankyou

Also here's a link to a flywheel i'm looking at on ebay. Seem like a good one to re-surface?

Could be, not resurfacing the flywheel, did you check for endplay at the pedal, could just be adjustment if you never checked. Maybe too late for the disk, could be glazed.

you could try resurfacing the flywheel and lightly block sanding the friction disk. also the centerforce dual friction has a centrifical lock up {the weights on a ring attached to the fingers on the pressure plate} . but ive never heard or experienced good things with the centerforce on an mk3 . but if your going to sell it maby stock is best

Pedal feels good. Very close to how stock felt. I remember it didn't change much. I did however adjust the pedal last year and it made no difference.

Yeah.. like I said this was years ago. I learned a lot the hard way with this car. Pretty much since I've gotten it i've been working on it and bad decisions made for more issues now. I learned just go with toyota parts. I'm NA and do have quite a bit of mods but no reason to have a race clutch on there. It's crazy though when the supra is running great it's a euphoric feeling. It's gonna be a hard car to get rid of.. especially when I finally get it running how I've always wanted it to.
