while my supra was down and I was replacing the BHG on it I figured I would put in a new clutch and flywheel. Now when I start the car and step on the clutch pedal the trans wont shift in to gear. I have checked the pedal freeplay and am about to go and bleed the line. Does anyone have any other suggestions that I could try? When the clutch pedal is engaged I can see the clutch getting pulled back but it just wont allow it into gear.

Thanks

Nick

hmmm so when the car is not running you can shift into gear correct?
Also you have actually taken the inspection cover off and watched the clutch move?
Did you get the FW surfaced if so to what specs maybe the step is to much? and not allowing the clutch to disengage

correct, the car will shift in to gear when it is not running. I do have the inspection plate off and can see the the clutch moving. The flywheel is brand new never used before. I just finished bleeding it and there is no air in the lines at all.

If you bleed all the lines and take all the slack out of the petal, it has to be the clutch in the wrong way if it is it wont go in gear i would pull it and check the spring on the clutch and see if its in the wrong way. thats what i would do.

maybe check the adjustment on the clutch master cylender. not the freeplay, check that the rod to the master cyl is the correct lenth. maybe you have it too short? i had the oppisite problem as yours and that was my problem.
