its wierd....i took it to a shop and they said its the pedal assembly. but my clutch pedal doesnt return all the way. like it has a 1/2 in to 1 inch. play on the pedal til it actually engages. Its a new clutch kit too. so idk wat it is. u think if it was the spring not returning all the way i could just pull the pedal with my foot and itd be the good but it just falls down like an inch til it engages. any advice?

did you bleed the system after you installed the clutch? or whoever installed it?
EDIT: too slow. :3d_frown:

The clutch pedal has a threaded adjustment screw, from where the pedal meets the master cylinder, I adjusted mine to suit the way I like my clutch, since when I replaced my master cylinder with an after market one (What Toyota was asking should be a crime!!) I had an extra ~1" play that wasn't there before. Give it a try, let me know how it goes, also ensure that the system is bled properly. Happy driving!

lol, i picked up the cheap slave and master when i did my 5spd swap, and this problem drove me crazy,

i did end up replacing the slave and master with toyota one's
and still had the problem but wasn't as bad.,

turned out the push rod needed to be extended some.

note i also noticed the toyota asembly had a longer rod to avoid this problem,
with the cheap one i wouldn't have eben able to adjust this problem out.

any ways, you do want alittle play that way there is no pressure on the slave cylinder, if there is your clutch could easly slip from not being able to return all the fluid.

cheers
