a new problem for my supra. its an r154 with oem clutch and rps syn-r-g lightwieght flywheel. for some reason my clutch keeps slipping. i looked under under the car and removed the inspection plate near the shift fork and it what happened is th clutch fork is closer to the slave than it should be and the slave is at the end of its travel so it was holding the clutch slightly opened. i checked pedal freeplay and it was good so i put a washer on each bolt for the slave between the slave and the bell housing and problem solved, no slipping clutch. then a few hundred miles later same problem, i put another washer on each bolt, as a shim and problem solved again. why is my clutch fork moving outward!!! thanks

Is your pedal freeplay set in par with the tsrm or by you own judgement? Is the shiftfork pivot pulling out of the bell housing? Did you inspect the slave and master? Did you tighten the jam nut behind the clutch pedal? Is the clutch new?

pedal freeplay is set but would not affect my situation because the rod in the slave can not move back any further. it is all the way in. the slave and master were both rebuild not to long ago and a new clutch disk went in with the build 1500 miles ago.

I would never trust a rebuilt slave and master...buy new ones as they are cheap!

So the pressure plate is old and used? You only installed a new disk?

i put in a new clutch disk and got the flywheel and pressure plate resurfaced. the slave is not the problem because even without the clutch line connected to the slave, ie no pressure or fluid, the clutch is being held slightly open.

Did they machine the step in the flywheel correctly?

yeah they stepped it, correctly idk. i hope so because they did the work on my block too. the problem only started at about 1200 miles and just happened again at about 1450 miles.
