Gee, what a revelation. Thanks for that. They're all silicone but the "weights" (vis in centistokes) are different and it's this and not the silicone that makes them applicable to different applications. Have I got that right?

Looks like ill be giving this a shot this weekend! The clutch fan isnt locking at operating temps. Or in the morning like it used to right after start up.

I just bought a used one from someone on here. Didn't feel like dealing with it. I've rebuilt one in my 280z a while back and it worked fine afterwards. It was completely locked too. Sounded like a tornado under my hood. Only thing is that the o-ring didn't completely seal and leaked out and sprayed oil all on my engine! 8-( But it still works great!
