cluster lights up when brake is pushed

well tonight i came home from work and turned my car off and lights off of course and noticed with my foot on the brake that the instrument cluster lights up. anybody have an explanation to this strange phenominon

Ah I misread it the first time, maybe you have wires touching somewhere under the dash?

Sounds like someone put a 1156 bulb into a 1157 socket.

yea i removed a bulb out of the back of one of my other supras. i take it that i have a turn sig bulb or reverse light bulb in my brake bulb outlet. they all looked the same so i thought they would all be the same. ill try this tomorrow and let you guys know. thanks for the info

1157 bulbs have 2 filaments.

yeah i got it solved. never had an japanese car before this one. its hard to mess up on a ford. also i just grabbed it out of the back of my parts car without thinking about it and didnt notice the difference in the two bulbs
