last saturday i did the sogi mod to my stock shifter....obviously it left me without a knob so figured id make one....found some clear acrylic at work (medical grade) and went to town on the lathe then buffed the hell out of it.....i didnt want to mess with threading the stick cause i do plan on getting a real short shift soon so i just used epoxy and was pleased with the result.......someone on here seemed to really like it and said i should post pics and see if anyone else would like one....if i do make them they will not be medical grade but you will never know the difference but it will cost me/you alot less for material if i order some.....anyway tell me what you think and if i see enough interest for me to bother makeing more then we will take it from there.

ps...i can thread them to damn near any thread type you want.....or if you go sogi i personally would say screw threads and just use glue

Glue? I almost never comment on this kind of stuff because there is no accounting for taste and each owner has a right to do what he or she wants....but that thing is just awful. I'd go back to using the Jack In The Box antenna ball I had for a while before I went that far. As someone who owns an Emco Maximat Super 11 I appreciate the lathe work though.

Btw I see you still have the factory radio. Use the AM stereo much? ;)

think ill stick with my stock one. why not make it smaller and maybe frost it with a sandblaster, then dye it dark.

for 5 min worth of machine work I think its fine....cheap fix....wanted to make it out of titanium but I couldnt find small scrap pieces...its not very comfy but I still think it looks neat.

A guy on one of my others forums does this(sells em in Nissan and Toyota threads), but his are consistant, actually have varied colors to em, and if you want he can put anything in the middle of the shift knob for you. Add those options and I'm sure you could make some $$ of this.
