After moving into the house some 5 years ago, one of the few things that I really haven't dealt with is the mess of cables in the work room. This originally serviced 8 cable outlets around the house, but has since been mostly upgraded to satellite.
Here's the mess that was near the electrical box. As you can see, Bell installers are oh so neat and tidy.
And this is what it looks like after I spent a few hours with it:
On the left the cable is coming in, one leg is split off to my cable modem, the other leg is amplified, and fed to an 8-way tap, which is currently empty, as I don't have cable TV anymore.
Next to that is a 4 port diseqc switch feeding one of my sat receivers. 2 of its inputs are coming from two different satellites.
Next to that are two splitters, one for each satellite, the signals are then being fed out to the diseqc switch for one receiver, and to a multiplexer below to feed another 4 sat receivers.
All of this is mounted to the left of the panel in a previously unused corner
I like wiring
