Cleaning my Headlights

My headlights look bad because of the age, i guess after a while, the glass becomes dirty and whatnot, have any of you used any special methods in cleaning your headlamps, i would purchase headlights from ebay, but $4.00 headlights doesnt seem too appealing...
i have the same problem with my fogs..

go to walmart and buy some new ones for like 20 bucks. they will be brighter than what you got now.

THE HEADLIGHT...the actual housing...walmart doesnt sell supra headlamp housings...the housing in itself is yellowing...my headlights are fine, ive got silverstars in there, but the housing is still dirty, and i dont wanna buy housings from ebay because they arent made of glass..

You can try vatozone , Oh'Really, or pepgirls for some headlight restoration kit made by Permatex I think, cost about 12 bucks. It contains 4 1000~2500 grit sandpapers and a bottle of polish with cloth. I've tried it on my fog lights and they worked pretty well! HTH.:icon_razz

3m makes some good stuff.. I dont remember what its called off hand.. should be avalable in advanced auto parts/autozone or whatever..

i really dont get what the hell you're asking. if you wanna polish the lenses, ditch the whole sealed beam and get a new one. if you wanna polish the inside of the housing, ditch the sealed beam and get a new one

the thing that throws me is you say youve got silverstars in there. that means either youve done the h4 conversion and have a shell with a replaceable silverstar bulb, or you've got the silverstar sealed beams and you wanna polish something secret that i dont know about. if you did do the h4 conversion, ditch it and get some new sealed beams, or step up to an e-code housing and run hids. beyond that, if your housings are not stock then ebay is pretty much the only option.

i didnt do any type of conversion, when i bought the car, it didnt come with the stock housing, it came with an aftermarket housing with h4's, the h4's that were in there blew within a week, so i decided to invest in silverstars... i made a mistake in doing that, i should have just bought original stock housings..
right now i dont care for what bulb is in there, i went to a junkyard and picked up the stock housings, but i dont know what to clean them with, they are yellowing... [How do i clean them?] << that was my question

Buy new housings.
If your lenses are yellowing, then they're plastic, and cheap ebay crap.

Invest in some Hella E-Code housings to go with your silverstars, and you're good to go.

If you don't want to drop ~$80 on housings, go to Autozone and buy some Silverstar Sealed Beams.

If you don't want to buy those, then Meguiars "Mag and Aluminum" polish works fantastic on yellowing plastic lenses.

cheapest, best route here: go sealed beam silverstars, itll run you 20 bucks apiece and they're easy to install. plus you dont need to even fool with polishing.

Not true. Once plastic yellows, it just needs restoring.

Ok, I'm still completly lost. The stock housings are SEALED BEAM in the US. So why is he trying to cleanup a set he got from the junk yard. Just go get new ones, it's not like there that expensive.
