Just be careful with the degreaser. Before I put my JDM motor in I used simple green and scrubbed all the crap off and sprayed with a pressure washer. It looked VERY nice, all bright white again. But the white started yellowing after about a week and now every bit of the white the degreaser touched in my bay is yellowish.. :duno:

I know this is a couple days old, but a couple of you guys said to use Kerosene? I'm on to my tranny and it's pretty bad and caked with oil. I sprayed it with my pressure washer earlier to get some of the big stuff off. Does the Kerosene just eat away at the stuff and should I respray it after I use the kerosene?

Thanks

I'll post up some pics in a build thread once I get my camera back.

Get a tuff bristle paint brush!!! I promise you you'll wonder how you clean a trans without one! When I cleaned my trans I never washed the parts cleaner off (kero based cleaner)...it just evaps eventually.

Kerosene will also help against rust being that it is petroleum. Also will be prone to picking up dust quicker.

it will dry after awhile...few hours out in the sun will bake it dry....my trans has been in my car for a year or more now and still looks like aluminum covered in sex!

Why not use one of these products available at any auto parts store.
