Sounds like this kid barely knows how to put gas in his car.

And then he goes whining to a hackjob dealer.

Anyone notice a new "Jack Assy"?

I would never go to CC or BB to get car audio.. and trust me, I really really fucking regret going to CarToys... As I really examine my system, they did a very very shoddy job and I paid $3,500!

if you fuck with the wiring harness. you pretty much can fuck over the whole car. so who knows what is all bad in the car. every time i walk into a circuit city, theres always more workers then shoppers. shit, id work there just for a workers discount on some car audio and then quit ! :)

even though its a honda.. thats still fucked up. you should never fuck with a mans car.

I am totally flabbergasted as to why anyone would go to BB or CC to get an audio installation. None of them do a good job, and very rarely do they even sell you decent components. Audio installation isn't hard......

I agree with the wiring harness comment.

Here's why:

I have a buddy who "had" a 98 accord V6.

He wanted to wire up his aftermarket headlights. He chose to stab the wiring harness where it went through the firewall.

Ended up shorting out the aux outputs in the ECU (as far as I could remember from scanning the codes). He needed a new ECU and wiring harness.

Ended up selling the car for 2 grand.

While I am at a loss for words as to why anyone can't install their own audio equipment, how the hell do they screw up this poor schmucks crappy car and completely screw up the entire front end of his interior compartment? Did someone get jealous that he had more plastic than they did? And since when do you have drill anything out? There's always a way to route your wires underneath panels. Freakin schmucks.

We all know the reason Civics are considered crap is because of a number of individuals who own them... compared to other off the shelf econoboxes, the Civic is heads and shoulders better than the rest.

CC destroying a brand new one is a travesty, but consider that the $12000 repair bill from Honda is a large portion of the purchase price of a new one.

^Let's just say that they chopped the livin shit out of just about anything they could put a drill bit into. The car was never the same.

He had to get a new tach, of all things. Does this give you any idea as to how F'd up the installer was?

Heh, that's cuz CarToys is on Commission, they do the best they can do get you in and out as fast as absolute possible so they can get on to their next buck :) Yes, I worked there for a while.

Pretty obvious you have no clue what you're talking about. Some of the best installers I have ever worked with worked at BestBuy, then Circuit City. While it is no arguement whatsoever that the vast majority of their installers dont' have a clue wtf they're doing, saying all of them is just retarded.

When i got my civic when i was 15 i got a cd player installed at BB and they screwed up my keyless entry..Had to take it back 3 times to get them to actually get it working alright..Now it doesnt work at all so i just said fuck it.

I got a sub/amp/wires installed in it about 3 years ago by Hi-Fi buys and they did a damn excellent job.

Pft, I found out how they were "installing" systems when I worked there. Those morons were slicing up the carpets of off-the-lot new cars because they were too lazy to do it right (it's no wonder their stocks are in the shitter). :nono:

How nice for them. Problem is, their being hired at either place is more contingent on whether they say "Yes" when asked "can you do car audio?", than the actual skills they have.
