cig lighter

hey well i just got a garmin street pilot and i tried connecting it to my cig lighter and it wont turn on wtf!!!
Anybody know might be the problem and what i could do to fix it...

Check
Fuses, Connections and make sure your ignition switch is on before turning on the unit.

when i first tryed to use my cig lighter, it didnt work. when i took the center trim thing out, the wires right before the connector were bent up and open. maybe its a common thing?:dunno:check it out, its simple. that and the fuse

See if the cig lighter is even plugged in behind the radio bezel.

hey tried everything you guys have said, Fuses are good, Everything is connected behind the center trim, and my car was on the ON position when i tried it..... What else could it be?

Get the multimeter out. Did you check if the cig lighter has power at the wires going into the back of it? That would be the first step. If it has power there, than something is wrong with the connections in the things itself. If it doesn't have power there, then there is something wrong with the wiring. So if that's the case, start either at the cig lighter and work your way back to the fuse box or start at the fuse box.

But get the multimeter and start checking stuff.
