I believe it was a quote I read from SupraCentral that said "when you realise why you dismiss all other gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." Makes a ton of sense to me.

religion is all a bunch of horseshit designed to comfort the insecure and ignorant.

Most Christians aren't really Christians...

and this

i also believe religion was created for two reasons: 1) explain how we(humans) came to be and 2) to have some sort of moral control on people.

I still have hope that we will evolve beyond the need for religion before our belief in it leads to our destruction.

I'm not going to sit here and preach, but most churches are not based in the Bible's teachings.

It's no wonder that people (me included) distrust the church.

When you realize that just how fucked up and twisted some of them are, and actually find one that can be tested against the Bible, it's really an eye opener.

People that believe science dispr ves the existance of God, need to turn back around and TEST science. There are a whole lot of theories that are show as fact, but have been proven wrong in science.

another thing about those theories, they are theories; they have yet to be proven true or false. this is why it is called faith, cant see it, cant touch it, but they believe it to be true. so what does this say about evolution? /threadjack

agnostic, 20.

i have no idea if there is a "God", and i really don't care. the more i read about religion, the more it contradicts itself. if i die and there's nothing, then i've lost nothing. if i'm standing on a cloud staring at st. peter, then i should be able to repent and accept jesus as my savior. (i don't like hot places.)

P.S. watch the new futurama video: "the beast with a billion backs". it pertains to this subject.

The poll.

It is flawed.

believing in God =/= Christian
Jews certainly believe in God, but are not Christian. :p

Indeed. As do many other religions and faiths.
26 Christian faith but not into religion at all. I beleive in my own way, as I don't think any religion has it right.

Many people confuse religion and faith. Thats why, as poodles said, many "christians" aren't really christians. Religion was created by man, not God, with the sole intent of controling the masses. I also see the pushing of evolutionary theory in public schools just as offensive as any religious push. Because it too is just another religion, you just have a theoretical system to beleive in instead of a god figure. Its all the same crap.
