checking the fuel pump, Fp and B+ = spark aaahhhhh

so i tried checking to see if my fuel pump is working and i jumped Fp and B+ and it sparked, so i tried it again and no spark but then the jumper wire got really hot, is there something wrong

Disconnect the FP connector above the fuel tank and jump Fp and B+ again. If you get spark or the wire gets hot, it's not the fuel pump. ;)

Most likely not. Mine does exactly the same thing. Put your finger on top of the fuel pressure regulator when you do it next time and try and see if you can feel something happening when the pins are shorted.

my fuel pump is gone, can i use a walbro 255 instead of replacing it w/ stock and then upgrading later, tried searching but im tired, sorry

Yes, but you will need to either bypass the J tube or drill it out. An adjustable FPR is also a very good idea.
