What can I say, Supras = win.

At least the L shape hose behind/below the water pump didnt blow up on you at 2:30am when you had to work the next day. Now THAT was fun.

Lose the plug galley cover between the valve covers, they cause leaks, and use fipg on the plug threads for those big allen head plugs. You must live on the SE side. That was some wicked flooding.

A good sealing surface, new gaskets, and properly torqued bolts do the trick everytime.

boost fiend,

I feel your pain on the heater hose...coolant got into my clutch assembly but I thought the clutch was thrashed. Pulled the trans, clutch was fine, saw the back of the engine and did the :rant2:   routine.

Adding to what Boostedstr8six said, I also put a thin layer of RTV along the sealing surface. Not everyone thinks it's necessary, but it just added that extra peace of mind for me. I also changed the Phillips head bolts to hex bolts so you can torque it down a little better; just don't go crazy with tightening it or the valve cover may crack.

That's what I did, never saw a leak again. Remember though, thin layer.
