check out this gauge cluster

that is pretty sweet, that would be great to have more gauges in there, but getting the additional ones mounted in there would be a pita wouldn't it?
I don't think it would be too hard to make fit, you would just have to remove the vent ducting in the dash that feeds the center two vents.
Why the hell does everybody want to make copies of everything. One time in a million does anybody end up replicating something people actually want. Get yourselves a couple of extra clusters, some fiberglass and filler, and a dremel and make your own danged clusters if you want one. Quit waiting for everybody to sell everything you want for your car for $19.99 buy it now on ebay.
I dont see a problem with the idea of trying to get these made. Everyone that would want one may not have the skill to fab it up. Even the way it is there would be some custom work to do to finish it.
I like it but I would not want to lose my AC vents or clock... my supermonitor goes there, and the A/C... well I'm always sweating my ass off especially here in SoCal

if whomever wins the auction decides to replicate it, i think its their business. if you dont want it copied, i would suggest not selling it.

I can tell you that in the end when all is said and done, Im going to lose money on this. Part of the problem is that when I first started talking about making these available, I had at least 20 people on the first day say there were in for one. This was my own design, not copied from anyone else in any way whatsoever. The cost of manufacturing anything less than 100 of a particular item doesnt really pay.

Its not about stealing someones work or idea, its about making something that the community is interested in having available to more than one person, and for a reasonable price.
What have you designed and offered to the community? And are you telling me that if you saw something on Ebay for half the price that a community member here was selling the same thing, you wouldnt buy from ebay? I bet there are actually a few people here that would do that, but I'll also bet the majority of the people here would get if for less.
So what we have here is a typical controversy. On one hand, its someones hard work and a one off, and so the original builder should make a nice profit from it. On the other hand the person selling it right now is NOT the original builder. I also think if you cant beat em join em. What I mean by that is if there is demand, some chinese or other offshore company is going to mass produce some crappy knock off of it and reap the rewards. Why shouldnt that be me? or you? or someone else here in this community?
Lastly, I want to say what has been said before in all the other threads that breach this topic. Its not a new idea. (obviously as another member has shown his work in this thread.) and therefore its fair game. If you want to get all bent out of shape because someone is even considering copying it go ahead. Its not going to change the fact that it can and will happen. Frankly I condone it.
