First things first - dont give me shit about the welds. Yeah they arent the prettiest.

So I spent all night last night putting the back half of this thing together. Materials for the entire exhaust (downpipe included) were pretty expensive. Stainless is outrageous. This includes the mandrel pipe bends/straights ($300), vband stubs and clamps ($150), coating ($125), fiberglass wrap ($50), flex pieces ($50), wire/shielding gas ($50) and polished muffler ($100).

Unfortunately, the metal shop gave me aluminum stock for the hangars instead of stainless. I should have checked before I left.... I cant hang it yet and have to wait until tomorrow to go back and get what I need.

Good work, it doesn't have to be pretty no one is going to see it unless they are under your car.

thanks guys - it really was a lot of work and took me about two days worth of labor to build the downpipe (check my build thread for pics) and this.

Ya Rajunz - you are right it probably would be pretty easy to just grind them down but I'm not too concerned about it. The only weld I was somewhat concerned about was were the muffler mounts to the pipe because you can see it a bit.... but not too much.

I just got back from the metal shop and picked up some stainless rod to make the hangers with.

CkAnderson - the muffler was a piece I bought from one of the forum members. I think its just a polished stainless ching chang chow, but its a straight through 4".

The most time consuming part of all of this was fitting the downpipe with the GT42 mounted up. That was a tight bend and angle to get right. I had to make it spiral down.....
