i am in the process of swapping a 7mgte into a toyo 1990 ext-cab pick up. i was wondering how important is the charcoal canister and can i hook up my return fuel line without it?

i have mine removed, emissionse wise you will more then likely fail if its removed. For now all i have is it taken out and a piece of fuel tubing connected to the vapor line, that goes to under the car. The other option is to cap the vapor line off and just buy a vented gas cap.

up along the firewall youll notice the little red cap, that line used to goto the charcoal canister. All i did was I capped the tubing off and then just bought a vented gas cap.

Heres another angle (passenger side)

thanks, i live in a state that does not emission checks or regulations. like i stated i'm doing a swap. don't really know the in's and out's of the 7mgte but i am learning. one other question? where is the turbo pressure sensor on the supra located. i did not know i needed one. saw one for sale on e-bay for the same year engine that i have (1987). is this the sensor located behind the glove box?

If you are referring to the Boost sensor for the boost gauge it is on the drivers side near the cruise control, let me update this thread w/ a pic of it circled

that is the sensor for the stock Boost Gauge, there is a vacuum line that T's into the cruise control line and the connecter goes into the cockpit :)

edit:
mind the nasty engine bay, that was pre head gasket job :)
