Holy F**King........

I'm trerrible sorry, I did in fact believe that this was the correct answer.

A simply no eric, your wrong about this, here is why. And believe it or not I would happily listen to why and actually learn from it.

The name calling, the rudness and outright hostility is completely uncalled for and complete un-nesecary.

I am sorry, I felt I did know the correct answer. I realize I did not now, but clearly I thought otherwise when I posted.

Perhaps before we become so unprofessional and all jump on the "lets get em!" bandwagon we could as a friendly community point out why someone might be in error rather than cutting them down and being very NOT friendly.

Ask anyone that I have gotten answers from anytime. I am totally open to learning and actually absorbing the information. And to top it off I'm a damn nice guy who would do pretty much anything I can to help out anyone I can even if I have just met you.

Comeon, honestly, non of you have ever been wrong before and mistakenly acting on information you believed was true? Never not once ever?

I guess I figured this community was a little better than another Supra community that seems to enjoy cutting people up more than helping others out.

I am truely and sincerly sorry bout that.

No need to be rude at all.

I was not being rude...I was being blunt. Something you might not be used to:

So the check valve in the canister has nothing to do with keeping positive pressure inside the tank so the pump doesn't cavitate? Might want to take a close look at the TSRM sport before you spout off in the Tech section.

The Tech section is not the place for "I think", "I heard", "my Uncle's Brother-in-Law told me" or any other info except the facts. I meant what I said...look it up before you post. Policing this kind of thing is getting very, very old since most the time it's been beat to death in the past. I'm not going to be "rude" anymore...I'm just going to start handing out infractions. Maybe that will get the attention to stop this kind of thing.

Please don't worry I'm not going to go answering anything anymore, on the off chance I may be wrong.

A great environment, fearing to post incase you may be wrong.

If you look at my posting history I clearly do not and have not done this before. It's not as if I go around claiming to know everything or instructing people to do things completely wrong.

I believe in every post including this one I am polite. And as is not the case here I am generally helpful.

JDUB, it wasn't you I was referring to actually.

Once again, I apoligize to the original poster. I stand corrected.

But no, I'm afraid I persoanlly choose to be not so blunt whenever I am helping someone learn something new they are mistaken about. Especially when that person hasn't really been a bother previously and I like to think I have not shown myself to be an asshat in anyway in these forums.

I guess I'm having a bad day and just didn't appreciate being told my advice was ****** (fill in expliative here) when I think my answer was given (although wrong) with nothing but best intentions.

If I had said, hey man don't you know, take that F**kng thing outa there you dumby or something then I would have fully deserved what I got.

(Incidentially I got my incorrect charcol cannister info from a senior board member that most here would agree that his opinion can be trusted as accurate. Guess its an example of that person being wrong also)

I have my charcoal canister deleted and the line open running down throught the rubber cap hole underneath where the canister would be with a vented gas cap.

There's so much controversy over this, this is what I thought was the correct way to go about the deletion after searching.

Is this correct?

Take a step back and think about this:

What is the reason for this "mod"? Does it improve performance? No. Does it correct a flaw in the design? No. It's done for cosmetics.

With that said, what's the down side? Venting flammable gasses. Pollution. (you all know I'm no tree hugger)

Simply put, it's a modification done for looks at the expense of safety and functionality.

Now in reality, the pollution aspect is minor. Minor enough that you can probably get away with ignoring it. But the functionality and safety issue still exists.

If you are going to do a mod like this, at least duplicate the European system.

P.S. - All of my cars still have a charcoal can except for the dedicated purpose built race cars.

What's the check valve and where is the write-up for the European mod?

I wanna put a catch can where my canister was. Seems to be safe to me it vents under the car but fuck it, I'll do it right to be 100% sure.

Well i did some searching at my local junkyard and found some kool things i would like to share:icon_bigg

From what i seen all the honda civics CC has 4 nipples set-up
so i look at the Honda accord and found out that they only have 3 just like
mk3 supras they are a bit longer but ALOT less heavy and THIN

I looked at the Toyota Tercel THe Smallest one i have found. It's smaller then the Accord and Supra With the same Nipple Set-up, but it's not as light as the Accords CC

I bought the Honda Accord and Toyota Tercel Charcoal Canister for $12.56:icon_razz

Whoa! Those canisters are still huge imo. The one I pulled from the Kia Spectra is maybe half the size of the Accord canister, around the size of a 6oz cup. Now mind you it doesn't have a check valve, but inline valves are available.

yea i forgot to mention that [no check valve] i didn't wanna mess with it!
i still think the Tercel is the best one when it comes to size ..then again i didnt look at every car in the junkyard just maybe like 50 cars lol
