Charcoal canister replacements?

So I'm currently trying to decide what to do with the charcoal canister as I've recently added some go-fast parts and space is running low. I've read probably 20-30 threads between here and SF so I understand at the point what it does... But all those threads have the same following mixed messages:

1. "Dump the line under the car mine is running fine"
2. "Replace it with something smaller like the JZA70 cannister"
3. "Keep the stock setup in total you are an idiot if you remove it"
4. "Cap the line and run a vented gas cap"

Currently I'm leaning towards going smaller and most people mention the JZA70 cannister, but finding one of those seems like finding the lochness monster. So reading further, some people mentioned honda and some other cars along those lines. However, for every person that mentions say a honda canister, there is another that points out they will not function the same due to the interal check valve from what I understand and that it won't maintain the proper tank pressure.

Now my actual question is this: First, is anyone willing to accept an arm or leg for a JZA70 cannister? Second, what would be an appropriate replacement for the stock charcoal canister? I'll probably wind up finding somewhere to shove this damn thing but I'd like to find a much smaller piece that will function exactly the same. What about the mk4 charcoal canister? Do the honda (ect.) canisters fuction correctly?

Basically instead of "go smaller" or "that one won't work" I'm looking for a definitive "this one will work and fuctions 100% the same as stock".

I have a feeling this thread will receive no responses or I will be flamed. Good thing I'm wearing my self esteem boots.

Valid question, I've also read a hundered threads on this and they are mostly arguing or theoretical. I have never seen anyone post a list of ones that will function the same. Looking forward to some response

it would be nice if the canister could be relocated underneath the wheel wells or underneath the car like my dads 88 Pickup truck, nice and neatly tucked in there dirt free :)

I believe that's what pepople do with the JZA70 canister. I'll be looking into this soon once I get mine GTE back together. The less clutter the better, but I dont want to sacrifice any functional pieces.

I picked up an SC300 charcoal canister, looks similar, except it's oval, but there's a vent valve, I might cap it off, but I have to research what it does..

So, whats wrong with relocating the stock one??

The problem is that it no longer fits in the oem location due to a turbo upgrade and I'm looking to run 3 inch intercooler piping where the original air intake box was located. It's too big to fit near the brake booster and my battery is still located up front. Unless I run my intercooler piping in tight between the frame rails I don't see where I would fit this coffee can.

In response to everyone else: I don't so much mind having it in the engine bay but if you have seen the JZA70 cannister you know it's about half the size in which case you could theoretically shove it under the fender, in the pass front engine bay where the intake box was or even under the brake booster and clutch master.

I'd love to find someone... anyone... who has done the research and maybe experimented with some different canisters.

I should go take a picture of the stock one next to a JZA70 one...

Here's the size of the JZA cannister:

And picture of the part number...
