So my question is would i be ok just resurfacing the head and a mhg? or should i do anything to the block? It might need planed but i'm not that far yet. and what about internals? i don't plan on boosting over 15 psi for a while once she's put back together and don't really have the money for internals as of now, but i want her back on the road as safe and quick as possible.

Few questions, was it a bhg? Why are you purchasing another head?

If it is a bhg, then the internals may have come in contact with water, so the bearings are a good thing to replace. Also replace the piston rings.
As for the block you need to prep it for a mhg as well. It wont seal right if you dont.

well with any MHG its best to get the block machined or the MHG wont seal. you would also have to remove the internals. so its pretty much just a mini engine refresh when its all done. its better to do it right the first time and not worry about it later on.

i believe a standard size hg stock is 1.37mm compressed , so you would need a thicker MHG to keep the compression ratio the same to stock.

Alright so i got the news today that it was deff a bhg and the head was screwed, the cams had little groves in them. i need a head, head gasket, a new radiator, and some hoses will need replaced. now does anyone know where i can find replacement hoses? i tried looking online but i'm not sure if the hoses will work. i know there some vacuum hoses i need but as to specific idk really what to look for i just have a box of hoses that he said i need to find. would Toyota be able to find them if i took the box of hoses to them?

Ah, ok.

As for the hoses, which ones are you talking about? Vac hoses can be replaced be the regular vac lines you buy at the auto store. Im not to sure if they sell a complete kit with every single hose in it.

There is no complete hose kit for the cooling system.

You can get vacuum hose kits or just buy a roll of vacuum tubing. But as far as coolant hose's or some of the bigger vacuum hoses there pre bent and would be better off going through toyota.

Look at the TSRM EPC, it should have everything you need.
Vacuum hoses, just buy bulk hose and measure, cut and replace them as desired.
Pre-Molded Hoses, find the part number on EPC and order from Toyota.
I would personally stay with an OEM gasket, if your plans are not too high.
Especially if you don't machine the block, just get some ARP studs and get them down to 85ft/lbs.
What's the point of having a MHG when you know it won't sit and seal right.
Do your homework and don't try to overwhelm yourself with too much.
I just finished rebuilding my head, wasn't cheap but it's worth it in the end.
I just did an OEM with ARP's and that should definately be okay for my 300-350hp goal while i'm finishing school.

Alright haha thank you. yeah that sounds a bit smarter to me. so just buy an oem head gasket and i don't have to surface the block huh? and i have no time for doing the hoses myself, is there anyone if i take the hoses to that will do it for me? all i need are the rubber hoses. i went to toyota and they were charging like 20-30 a hose!! o_0
