Ceramic Coating

I've just decided to get a bic ddp. I have one question though, I guess in my vast intake of knowledge :nono: I have missed what the benefits of ceramic coating is. :1zhelp: I know that it keeps heat in and out, but I dont know if I would benefit getting it done when I buy it or can I wait as seeing all have money later. Would it be just a beneficial to heat wrap it, or whatever. Thanks!

In addition to keeping heat where it belongs it also provides rust protection. You could wait and have it done but it's much easier to do before you install it. Heat wrap is a decent alternative, done properly it will hold heat in better. Done poorly it will cause premature excessive rust.

About 25-35 dollars a foot for inside and out, pm Jdub ;).

^^ if you do that
Once you purchase it, Put John/jdub shipping address down to save you money on shipping costs. Shipping those dp are expensive well at least to me they are.

Oh look...I've always wanted a DDP! LOL!
BTW - It's $25 a foot for chrome...$35 a foot for black. Include the DDP part in the linear measurement. The chrome will turn a titanium grey color from the high heat this part receives...the black will turn from a semi-gloss to flat. Oliver's comment on shipping will save you some $$$...these are expensive to ship.

If you get this done (regardless of who does it), make sure it's a 2000 deg rated coating. Anything less is not going to hold up. The best combination is the ceramic, then wrap it. There will be no corrosion issues once the ceramic is applied and the heat wrap adds additional protection.

There will be a significant drop in engine bay temps in the area around the turbo. Max benefit is when the turbo housing, heat shields, and exhaust manifold is ceramic coated as well.
