Under boost the intake manifold is pressurized...the PCV TB port is actually an orifice (there is no PCV valve on the stock PCV system). PCV flow is effectively reversed as a result, the routing back to the accordion hose allows the small amount of flow under boost to route to the accordion hose. This maintains a closed system.

FYI - Since the PCV fitting on the accordion hose is after the AFM and the flow has already been metered, there is no effect on how the TCCS sets injector duration for the amount of air flow.

Ok so this is what you are saying right JDub?

Thanks for chiming in just for clarification, I was just about to post on whether or not a check valve is needed, but you beat me too it.

Finally, where is a good place to acquire a pcv or check valve that will not give out due to boost levels etc.?
Would this work? http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100152605
Thanks!

It's not absolutely needed, but if you put a check valve where you show (yes, that's correct) the TB line will put max vac on the filter...it's that flow from the least resistance thing ;)

I would find a correctly sized (to the hose you are using) PCV valve...it is a check valve you know. I believe IJ is using a Ford valve...his is different that what you show since he is not using a stock TB.

Sounds good JDUB, maybe I will try out the one I posted up (from Home Depot) since it is easily accessible and I will just thread the fittings on for the 5/8" ID hose I am using.
Thanks again for all the help!

jdub - Great explanation..thanks.. I do have a little question. I don't drive my car daily it will soon be a weekend warrior it will be. I have cams so I am not concerene dwith Idle quality. My question is if I run the valve covers to a can with a filter on the top and have no connections to throttle body or my turbo inlet (soon vpc no accordian) will that be enough cranckcase ventilation.

I assume you will block the TB port off. If not, you are turning it into an open system...a pirate air (unmetered) source straight to the intake manifold. Trust me, the TCCS is not going to like that ;)

Even so, the PCV system needs to be under vac to operate at best efficiency to remove crankcase vapor. You are counting on crankcase pressure to do the job...not enough on a 7M.
