Also, I fell under the thick oil spell too and have been running synthetic 20W-50 for awhile. Did I do any damage?
Well I used to use Mobil 1 10W-30 and just used 20W-50 recently. The motor had 10W-30 for most of it's life.GrimJack;1627905 said:It's extremely good oil that can be found reasonably priced. Not much more to say.
As for damage, how about taking a sample and sending it off for analysis? That will tell you what's going on inside your engine.

anyways. i have atleast 500 miles on a freshly rebuilt 7m.. i used 0-30 to break it in. i have heard myths about running 20w-50 in your car you you happen to be pushing your car hard. can you confirm that? but after reading through this thread it kinda opened up my mind a little. anyways since i have 20w-50 oil to begin with, do you think it is safe to run it?..
