I took my 89 Hardtop Turbo to the dyno for the first time yesterday. Mods are:

- HKS Dragger exhaust
- 3" defcon downpipe
- high flow cat
- Lexus AFM
- 550 injectors
- Blitz ebc
- fjo wideband kit
- hks intake
- spearco intercooler with hardpipes

This was performed on a Mustang Dyno.

248 WHP @ approx. 5000 rpms

289 ft/lbs @ approx. 4200 rpms

290 HP at the crank.

The car held the horsepower up until 6000 rpms but wasn't gaining any more so I had them shut down the test at just past 6000 rpms.

The boost peaked at 15.6 psi which was the most I would run on the stock turbo.

The car handled the hard run really well and cooled off very quickly.

Thanks for looking.

He already has a Blitz EBC ;)

I would get a upgraded fuel pump (Walbro or Mk IV Denso) and an AFPR.

Electronics wise...a MAFT Pro or SAFC.

Something doesn't seem right here, my car stock other then 3" DP and exhaust all the way back on 11 PSI made 269 HP and the same torque. Thats with stock AFM and no tuning. I would have thought you would be at 300 at least with the lex and more boost.

He's on a Mustang dyno though, those read a bit lower than dynojets and other dynos. Temperature and everything will affect readings too =\

Nice numbers Mark, a fuel pump and that 57 trim you have planned should be fun :biglaugh:

I thought so as well. I've heard that Mustang dynos have lower readings but don't really know if they are more accurate than other dynoes.

269 is huge for just those mods. I don't know if my numbers are lower than most other people's with similar mods but I'm hoping to get some more responses.

Sorry, yes, I'm planning on a Walbro pump and AFPR this winter as well.

Your numbers are good as is. Mustang dynos do show a lower reading compared to dynojets. You should defintily feel the difference when that boost hits...

Dynojet numbers are closer to crank numbers than they are wheel. Also he has 550's and a lex afm but no tuning device I would say he is still deep in the 10's AFR wise.

I would look for a different clutch if I was you. I don't have any experience with them, but I've been reading bad reviews on their high horsepowere'd clutches. Maybe their single disc clutches are better. You can check our review section here and see if anyone has given any reviews on the RPS. Good luck and congrats on the good numbers.

exactly what i was thinking. when i was on just the lex and 550s i was sub 10.9 through the whole pull, looked like a diesel on the dyno when boost hit...

Yea...Mustang dyno's are a little more accurate IMO, they always read lower then a DynoJet...for your mods though it seems a little low...I know a buddy of mine hit 236WHP with CAI, DP, and Catback and a few other things...but that was on dyno-jet.
