i just picked up a 89 N/A white package, it has been sitting for about a year, it cranks but doesnt start, at first i thought it was due to some vacuum hoses but i connected and still nothing, also the bvsv is broken could that have something to do w/ it, also how can i check if the car's getting fuel, since its been sitting for a while im assuming that the fuel and possibly the fuel lines are shot, any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

Pull a spark plug and see if it's wet. Did you pu new fuel in?

Fuel lines are OK. BVSV wouldn't cause it to not start.

pulled the first spark plug and it wasnt wet but the tip was white, previous owner stopped driving it b/c he had a problem where the alarm would go off constantly and lock the ignition, then he got a bmw and the supra just sat there,

should i drain all the fuel and replace it w/ good fuel or just add fuel

ill check for codes tonight when i get home,

thanks

I would NOT start by worrying about fuel. My turbo sat for 2.5 years with a 1/4 tank and it started up almost instantly once I fixed the real problem keeping it from starting.

Once you get it running, either siphoning out the old fuel or simply filling it with a tank full of good fuel is a good idea.

Check codes first. ALWAYS check codes first. ;)

To check for fuel flow, you can jumper FP and B+(with the key in the ON position) in the diag. box to turn the pump on, then listen at the fuel rail for flowing fuel.

SupraRX7 is right. You need to fix the alarm issue first. Kind of a regular issue. You should search in the general discussion section to find how to bypass or fix the alarm.

well this weekend has been pretty hectic, so i thought it was the fuel pump. so i changed the fuel filter, then i drained like 12 gallons of fuel, dropped the tank, cleaned it out then i placed the pump in a container of gas and hooked it up directly to the battery and it WORKED!! aaarrrgghhh, so i put everything back and crank it and it starts YAY!!! but then theres a fuel leak under the fpr, so today i tore it apart, the valve covers were leaking, some of the hoses were bad, so i removed the intake, covers, tb w/ upper IM, fuel rail, etc, it was so many things, but yeah i cleaned everything and up and almost finished putting everything back together so hopefully ill put it all back together and have it running soon

BIG THANKS TO ALL THOSE WHO'VE HELPED ME OUT
THANKS
