Alright so as it sits now, the car is running, but not running at the same time. She is very tempormental and has been in the shop for 3 months now. I really hope it will come out okay, but right now im losing hope. Ive put $500 into the car (just in shop costs) in order to get it running, and its still not running. I have run out of money for now, so I get to save some more :). This is going to be interesting but here is some "about" the car info.
The body:
The body is in good condition, it may need a new black drivers door, but thats definatly on the back burner for now. Its nothing bad. Other than that, its in really good condition.
Interior:
I am going to get a couple new door pannels, and then thats really going to take care of the interior, maybe later get a new dash pad, but once again...thats on the backburner. The seats are in good condition for being 20 years old! Haha!
Engine:
The whole bottom end has been re-done and the engine has been painted, which I like...haha. I bought the car not knowing if it was going to run or not, I was told by the previous owner that all it needed was knock sensors and the idle control valve put back together. Its going to carma monday or tuesday and thats going to be fixed. I need to get the Tach and speedo back working as well. Its got the bottom end thats rebuilt, its also got the SC400 MAF on it too. Its got intake and exhaust, but I think im going to redo the exhaust from the turbo back. Anyone know if I can run a test pipe AND go through emmissions? I think im going to put the HKS Hi Power on it or the Carbon Ti. Im not sure yet. The guy who I bought it from gave me those pics.
Today:
I took the car out of the middle of the road and put it in the driveway so I could clean it up and get some work done to it. I started in the engine bay and found that a bunch of bolts were off, so I started finding where they went and started putting it all back on tight. So after I got all of that done, I got the charger and threw that on there, just to see what would happen if it cranked...because once again I had no idea what to expect, half of me was like i sware im gonna crank this and its going to have this nasty knock or its just not gonna do anything, but then again the previous owner didnt seem like he had anything to hide so I was definatly hoping for the best! So after I let it charge I cranked it and stopped, it sounded like it had really good compression...so I decided to see if it would start...haha. And it did. of course it didnt run well, but it ran, so thats all I care about. The oil pressure gauge went up so I was pretty happy about that as well. It seems like everything is going to turn out really well. I cant wait to get it back from Carma hopefully sometime next week. If not then, then the week after...hoping everything goes well!
Plans:
I have a few small plans for now...which of corse are going to get bigger and better as we go along.
So first, im gonna get the intercooler from race_breed. Hardpipes (or a few) for the win! haha. After that im gonna get that exhaust re-done...take it to quick muffler get them to take care of that. After that Ill be heading to fuel upgrades...including Walbro fuel pump and some injectors prolly some 550cc. And when I do that, ill make sure I have a neo on that and get a wideband and get it running properly. Then (according to my MKIII newbie mod guide HAHAHAHA) I have reached the full potential of the CT26 and have to find a hybrind turbo But still that should be somewhere around 375 (crank) @ 16psi) ha so...hopfully im gonna keep this car for a while, not like the other supra and the other SC haha.
I have purchased a HKS downpipe and some 550cc injectors. Im going to have to buy another Lexus AFM, my HP goals are right at 450RWHP. I know its going to take a lot but I think Im up to it. Well onto pics!
