Carb cleaner and MAF

I think I just screwed up... I just cleaned out the inside of my MAF with carb cleaner and now having all kinds of idling problems. I also just read another post saying do not clean your MAF with carb cleaner...

How screwed am I?

Is the MAF toast now?

Yep the electronics dont like that ,try to buy a used working one. I got one to sell if you cant find one.

I figured as much. Of course the one I cleaned was a used one I just bought off the classifieds here. I figured I would make sure it was clean before I installed it.

There goes $50.00.

Oh well live and learn.

for future reference you can walk into any advance auto or autozone etc and buy electrical connection and parts cleaner for about 4 bucks. works GREAT and doesnt harm them.

i have cleaned my MAF with carb cleaner two times and no problem, i guess i was lucky

Haha, not only do you not clean electronics with carb cleaner... you don't clean this electronic with electronic cleaner...

you can spray electronic cleaner on it no problem...thats what its for...it will get rid of any grease etc on it....
