I just finsihed installing my safc-2 and was trying to figure out why the car wasnt running correctly and I came to notice that a couple pins in the SAFC harness wasnt making contact on some of the pins. I put pressure on the connector (making the connection) and went to hit the starter and bam I lost all power.

No headlights, interior lights, ignition, brake lights everything is out. I checked all the fuses under the hood and in the drivers kick panel with a multimeter. Double and triple checked EVERYTHING! All the fuses are good.

Is there any other fuses/fuseable links that I could have missed anywhere????? Any help on this would really be appriciated as this is starting to get me ggood. :1zhelp::1zhelp::1zhelp:

Went back out to the car to try trouble shooting some more and noticed that I had power again after about 10 mins. I checked and double checked my wiring and removed all the wiring I had just installed to see if that was the issue.

Turned the key to the on position, then to starter position. Once again (when trying to turn the starter over) the resetable fuse kicked the power off. This time around I just disconnected the negative cable and put it back on to reset the link.

One thing Im thinking is that could the starter have a dead short inside itself and be causing the resetable fuse to kick off power? I have been having slight issues with the starter sticking in really hot weather. It seems to turn the engine over slower now compared to a month ago also (taking longer to start the engine)

sounds like you have a connection problem at the battery. thee is no reset able fuse.

I think he's talking about the power circuit breaker, you just push it in if it trips.
That particular CB is a White / Blue strip wire, have you tapped into that anywhere for anything?
Also check the cables going from the battery to starter, alternator for shorts to ground (altho technically that should blow the alt fuse unless you have that silly wire in there instead)

CB runs, door locks, windows, headlight cleaner (if applicable), AM1 circuit to ign barrel.

even if you didn't touch the cables check them anyways. just 10 min ago i was trying to fix my antilock and then for no reason the car wouldn't start. It did the same thing you said. i also checked everything/fuses and then played with the battery some then it started right up. hope it helps.

This afternoon I went and checked out the battery terminals and clamps. They were pretty corroded so I cleaned them up and put dialectric grease on them. Seems to be good now :)
