Look at the intake manifold, in between 3/4 runners you'll see a bolt facing toward the ground. Loosen this bolt barely, as it will SPRAY some fuel if you have a good working fuel pump. I forgot to torque mine and on my first start I nearly bathed my friend standing beside the fender.

It's the bolt that is towards the rear. It's the smaller on that is in front of the fuel dampener(mushroom looking thing).

Ok I unscrewed the banjo bolt and some gas came out. Could this be old gas from when it was parked? Im confused because if it had gas in the fuel rail it should crank unless the injectors arent good. What do you guys think?

BTW I checked the bolt in front of the big mushroom.

How much is some? More than a few ounces?

If so, the pump might be good. If not then I'd get a new pump. You can also drop the tank and try putting power to the connector of the fuel pump.

Not sure how much but enough to run down the back of fuel rail. I unsrewed it about four times. Once while trying to turn it on. I only noticed gas come out when I unscrewed it the first time. Im going to have to drop the tank either way and check the pump.

Also I was looking for a thread on how to drop the tank and read that another member was having trouble with his car cutting off when the gas got low because the tank was pretty dirty. I looked at my tank and its somewhat dirty, not much but still. Could this be the problem?

Ok will do that. My dad just got home and we tried starting it with starting fluid. It cranked and I gave it some gas. It revved but lost power when I kept accelerating. I noticed that it gave off some black smoke. What could cause that?

Yeah just thoughy it might also be a symptom. Ok back on track, I unscrewed the bolt facing down and it did not even drip. Its dry. Heres a pic of the bolt I unscrewed.

Just making sure, your unscrewing it then jumping the pump in the diagnostics box to see if the pump is working. If it did not drip your pump is dead.

If you loosened the banjo bolt to the CSI and jumped B+ and FP. I'd say either you have a dead battery or the fuel pump is dead. Semi clogged fuel pumps will atleast cause drips. Good fuel pumps will give you a bath.

I know the battery isn't dead because its the from my 3000gt. So tomorrow Im going to drop the tank and check the pump. If it doesnt run Ill change it.

Theres a guy selling me a walbro 341 pump. Can I use it on a completely stock motor? Im thinking I can because the fuel pump regulator will keep the gas flow in check.

The stock FPR and the j-tube do not the extra flow from a bigger fuel pump. You'd probably have to either go stock fuel pump or get an AFPR to keep the fuel pressure in check. Someone might chime in and say you can run it on a bigger fuel pump but I like to keep the pressures at or near stock. Just my .02

just get a stock pump. Should be super easy to find one. I really wouldn't bother with a random walbro when you don't have a clue if the rest of the car is even running right.
