Ok first things first. Im new to the Supra platform so dont really have any experience.

Now, I recently inherited 2 MKIII'S after my brother passed away in a car wreck. He had recently replaced a couple of things on it including the headgasket. He was driving the car when he decided to park it because it had the wrong camshafts in it. Now that the car is just sitting in my back yard, Ive decided to change out the cams. However the car wont turn on. It turns over but wont crank on. I started checking the norm. I checked to see if had gas, but at that moment I also checked to see if the fuel pump turns on but I didnt hear anything. So im going to drop the tank and change the fuel pump.

Also, while checking the spark plug wires I noticed that there was oil around the outside of the spark plug wire. No oil inside or on the spark plug. I guess what im asking is if there is supposed to be oil there, if not what things should I check?

The oil is from the old valve cover gaskets that have started leaking which is a common problem and easy fix. Its nothing to worry about just get new ones, remove the bolts and put the new ones in. As for the fuel pump not coming on check the fuse box in the engine bay, there is a 15amp fuse that controls the efi system make sure its not blown. If its not then do some searching on here to see how to pull the engine codes and see if you get any.

the oil in the plug gallery is from leaky cam covers. its not suspose to be there but is normal once they start going. new ones and that should stop.

Checked the fuse and its good. Does anyone know what I should check to see if gas is being sent to the injectors? I want to make sure before I replace the fuel pump.

You should hear the fuel pump. If you can't hear the pump by jumpering the appropriate terminals in the diagnostics box, then the pump isn't running.

Most cars I've dealt with that sat for long need a new pump.

I don't recall what terminals need to be jumpered. Maybe b+ and e1? The tsrm will say for sure.

Sorry to hear about your brother! :(

As long as you try to give us info without getting mad and work with us while typing in proper grammar, your good to go. It's just standard criteria for anything you do. On to the car stuff.

Jump FP and B+ and see if you hear the pump.

Can't hear the pump? Crack the the cold start line banjo volt, it is towards the rear of the 7M fuel rail towards the firewall. It is located in front of the mushroom looking thing which is the fuel pulsation dampener. Then jump FP and B+ and see if fuel comes out.

If you want to avoid this? Get a can of starting fluid, spray it in the throttle body after opening the plate and spray some in there, connect everything and fire it up. If it starts, you know fuel is the problem. No start, have to check everything else.

Do these steps and report back. We will be glad to help. :)

Ok guys I went out today and kept going at it. I tried to see if the fuel pump would turn by connecting the B+ and F1 terminals, but no luck. So I went and bought some starting fluid. I sprayed some into the throttle body and crank it. It came on and then cut off. So I did it again and it came on but this time I gave it some gas. It revved up to 2K but then lost power and cut off.

While doing this the car was shaking pretty hard, dont know if this is a sympton or not. At least I know it has to do with fuel delivery.

Also I found someone selling a walbro 341 fuel pump for $80. Do you guys think I should get it? He says it has around 500 miles of use.

Well we know what the problem is, you need fuel. Before we go changing the pump, did you crack the banjo bolt to see if fuel came out?

If you did and no fuel came out of the rail, change the pump. For 80 shipped that sounds good, if it is 80 plus shipping, just get a new one from DM as you are close to the new price already. Update us on what you try.

Could also head to your local parts store, AVOID AUTOZONE, and get a fuel pump if it is cheaper there.

DriftMotion.com is your friend.

Yeah, made a mistake when I posted. I havent opened the banjo bolt, could someone point out which bolt it is. I checked at Advance and the fuel pump is $140.
